Cornerback Jabari Greer had two interceptions and newly-acquired offensive tackle Langston Walker blocked a field goal to help lead the Bills to a 13-10 victory over the New Orleans Saints in their preseason opener.

The Saints starting offense got the better of Buffalo's revamped defense early, but couldn't put the ball in the end zone, leaving the score 3-3 at halftime. Saints QB Drew Brees threw for 118 yards on only two possessions in the first quarter, but New Orleans could muster only three points as kicker Olindo Mare hit one field goal and had the other one blocked by Walker.

Buffalo's QB JP Losman and HB Marshawn Lynch both had quiet debuts, Losman completing 4 of 6 passes for 20 yards and Lynch carrying the ball only twice for a total of three yards.

Buffalo's lone touchdown came on a 17-yard touchdown scamper by reserve HB Fred Jackson, who impressed while running for 49 yards in the second half.

The Bills also got impressive play from second-round pick Paul Posluszny, fighting for a starting spot at LB.  Posluszny had his nose around the ball a lot in the second half, and had a nicely timed sack of Saints rookie Tyler Palko on a delayed blitz play in the third quarter.

The Saints had two drives stalled in the second half after Palko threw two interceptions into the hands of CB Jabari Greer, one of them in the end zone.  Palko played all of the second half for the Saints, totaling 172 yards on 15-27 passing, while also scrambling for 47 yards, including 19 on a 4th-and-1 bootleg.  He tossed a beautiful over-the-shoulder fade route to first-round-pick WR Robert Meachem for the Saints lone touchdown.

Buffalo took the lead for good with a booming 54-yard field goal from kicker Rian Lindell that looked like it could have gone in from 60 with no problem.  Saints coach Sean Payton opted to go for a 4th-and-12 on the last drive of the game with the Saints in field goal range, but they could not convert, giving Buffalo the victory.

Buffalo moved to 1-0 for the preseason as the Saints fell to 0-2.  The Bills play host to the Michael Vick-less Atlanta Falcons on August 17th at 7pm as they go for their second preseason win.
