Editorial Interns

Skills: Candidates must have experience writing about the NFL and or sports in general for publication, whether at a student newspaper or a professional publication. Experience in writing sports news articles on tight deadlines is especially appreciated.
Job Description: NFLSpot.com seeks interns for the autumn 2007 session, which will begin in September. NFLSpot.com is an Equal Opportunity Employer committed to maintaining a diverse work force. The internships are full-time and are telecommute, meaning you work from home and the internship will last until January 2008. Academic credit can often be arranged. The interns' primary responsibilities are reporting daily sports news articles for NFLSpot.com. Other assignments include and doing research for special projects. There is very little grunt work. Interns who prove themselves as reporters and writers are often asked to write full-length
features.

NFLSpot.com places a premium on reporting that is accurate and writing that shines. All writing, including that done by staff reporters, is carefully edited. Interns typically leave with a set of strong, varied clips.

NFL Beat Writer

Top candidates will be critical thinkers, clear and graceful writers and daring, compelling storytellers. They will know football and love football. They will be skeptical, and empathetic. They will know the right questions to ask and how to ask them. They will dig deep for the truth and then explain it to readers in stories they can't put down.
